The Ides of March; what and why.

I was born March 15th 1982, on the so-called ides of march. I have created this blog for a simple, selfish reason; to gather my thoughts, put them out there, and maybe, by some fluke beyond the comprehension of the human mind, find a forum for the discussion of the various conflicting ideas, emotions, and feelings which are a part of my experience.
I would also like to discuss the issues facing today's world which may be important. Be it politics, literature, art, music, sports, doesn't matter. If it is a part of me, I will put it out there.
Follows is an excerpt from Wikipedia on the Ides of March:

"In the Roman calendar the Ides of March fell on the 15th day of the Roman month of Martius. The Ides was an auspicious day in the Roman calendar, falling on the 15th of March, May, July and October and on the 13th of the other months. The date is famous because Julius Caesar was assassinated on the Ides of March, 44 BC. According to the Roman writer Plutarch, Caesar had been warned of the danger but had disregarded the warning:What is still more extraordinary, many report that a certain soothsayer forewarned him of a great danger which threatened him on the Ides of March, and that when the day was come, as he was going to the senate-house, he called to the soothsayer, and said, laughing, "The Ides of March are come"; to which the soothsayer answered, softly, "Yes; but they are not gone."Because of Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar; the Ides of March has had a sense of doom."

I have created this blog in order to discuss the issues which are important to me, mainly discussions and ideas that i have concerning the environment, politics, art and literature, or just the day to day experiences which are a part of me. please take your time and browse the postings and the links, and feel free to add your comments; i may learn more from your comments that you will from mine.
